Is there an easy way to reset the $timenow

Is there an easy way to reset the $timenow variable for
non regestered users. I would prefer the time to be
PST instead of GMT on the index page.

There is a hack for this somewhere on these forums. I don't know what it's called but a little searching should find it.

I've searched and cannot find it. So perhaps if you
now how to modify the php in index.php I would be greatful.

I found the section where if the user is unregistered or not logged in in the script .
