View Full Version : My SQL Backup is 300k! It used to be 8 megs!

Hey,
The host that I have my board on recently upgraded linux(debian) to a new version and backed up the SQL database and reloaded it. The posts and users are still there, but when i goto backup its 300k! It used to be 8 megs.. Can anyone please help?

Sometimes the connection to our server brakes and you don?t get the whole file!
Or did you backup your db onto your server if not do so and download the backup via FTP ;)

If the db is still 300k maybe you have deleted yout search index and your adminlog (i do that for updates cause it makes them much smaler!)
Check your backupfile and look if the last table is words if so the file is complete!

What do you mean words ? Can you give me an example please?

Mine says: VALUES('3481','1','1011769458','backup.php','sqlta ble','Table = Array','000.000.000.000'); (0s are in replacement of my ip)

And whenever i try to do a backup to file and ftp it.. i get a page displayed error and it does nothing :( I did the chmod 0777 too

You have to chmod your admin dir to 777 did that?
