General Question About Hacking

Hi, I'm just getting started doing some modifications, hope someone can answer a very general question.

To start with, I want to modify some of the layout / information on the main page, eg "Total Threads", "Welcome To Our Newest Member", etc. You know where I'm talking about. I want to add some more functionality up there.

Where exactly does that get changed? The only reference I found to any of those variables was in the vbulletin.styles file in the ./admin directory. Made my changes there, but so absolutley no change to the page.

What gives? Using a vanilla version of the board, no mods yet, just getting started. If you can point me in the right direction, I'll take it from there.

Did you try to enter your user name into the page I gave you? If so, what happened? You're still not showing up as a licensed member.

No big deal now. I figured out what I had to do :). Had forgotten to change one other variable, now it's golden.
