Hi everyone. This is my first post. After using a couple of different perl based message boards on my site, I've decided to make the switch to vbulletin. I think I'm making the right choice.

I saw some previous posts discussing the creation of a "paid membership" hack so that a discussion board could charge people for accessing a vbulletin board. Since those threads didn't seem to go anywhere, I'll start a new thread.

And to make this interesting; I am willing to pay for this hack; in USDollars. :greedy:

I haven't finished the spec requirement but let me briefly outline what I'm looking for.

Two tiered Membership Levels

*** FREE PUBLIC MEMBER - only access to a few selected category and/or Forums
- free members can view headers of other threads but can't read/write thread
-restricted PM usage

*** PAID MEMBER - full read/write to all
- allowed access to member's directory via .htacess

** Membership system should tie to commercial credit card billing system such as Paypal, CCBILL or other (I know of several others)
** Needs auto-post protection. My current public message board suffers from auto-posters who post dozens of advertisements per day to my message board via an 'auto-post" script. The board is ruined because of this. The new board needs protection against these people.
** Email notification to user upon approval, pending expiration and expiration of membership. User is downgraded to “free” membership if membership lapses.
** Incorporate chat program (conferenceroom.com or other) into layout

As I mentioned this is just a draft of the required features. Any other feature suggestions welcome.

So do we have any PHP/VBulletin Gurus up to this challenge??

I'm looking for something similar all I need is one that will you can put a date in and how long 1 mo 6 mo 1 yr etc. and roll back their user level at that time, be nice feature too to have it send an email to admin and user 30 days prior to expiring.... We added a manual field that only Admins can edit in the users cp page so we can keep track somewhat.... be a nice hack for sure!

Thanks

I'll try to create something like that, it would be very usefull for me to. But I can't say it will work... and it WON'T be ready within quite some time.

PS

This is what I have been looking for: I need is one that will you can put a date in and how long 1 mo 6 mo 1 yr etc. and roll back their user level at that time.

Has anyone come up with a hack like this? I would be willing to pay for it.
