Hi,

I have been offering something similar to ICQ and AIM as a free download on my site and would like to integrate it with VB. Seems fairly simple to do at first glance but I would like to make sure, since I am new with VB. Besides member.php and writing a couple of new templates (to indicate online status and to trigger members communication page), updating userprofile template (to add new option), place it in postbit template and creating the additional field in database, are there other places to modify also?

Thanks.

It would help if you at least gave a link to that program.

click on my site and it is there to download for free. Every person who registers gets a static page automatically assigned to username. (but do not download yet as the NT server is currently down and you will not be able to connect after downloading. I am waiting for someone to fix for me). Once you install, all you have to do is set it up and you have like MSN or AIM, plus a little more functionalities.

It is a nice piece of software which consist of a small messenger and can be toggled into a small webpage where you could push information according to user selected keywords. It can be fully configured to your own images and logos within seconds.

Everytime the programs which is an aptiveX on your desktop is opened it connects to a server. You do not have to be on any site. Just connected to the internet.

That link can be placed on a web page and this is the status indicator that I plan to use. When clicked on, it opens the static page that allows you to send the IM. It can even send messages to your cellphone. And has broadcasting capabilities.

Unfortunately, the guy went out of business. here (http://rapman.com/) is his homepage. I am using the website system.

Personal Web Page Contact and Status Indicator (http://www.rapman.com/RapX/systemoverview.htm#Who%20Request)

BTW I did not pay for it. The guy is a friend of mine and before going out of business he gave it to me for free, 200,000 users, a $52,900.00 value. :D :D :D

All I had to do was to install the server into a NT and provide a download link on my Linux. :D :D
