I need to have one of my custom fields a required one of three. in other words, they have to choose an alliance: light, dark, chaos, or balance.

is there any way I can make one of the fields a drop down menu with that information, so they have to choose only from that list?

There's a hack like this in the full releases section - check around for it as I am not exactly sure where it is at the moment.
