Have Vbulletin generate html pages

I was on http://www.automotiveforums.com and noticed their forums generated html pages for each thread. Is that a hack and if so would it be useful I though it might reduce server load by using more static pages, although it might be worse when there's constant posting.

Hey there, Lancer... :D Igor's using this hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18035) at AF. They aren't really pure HTML files (they're still generated by the server every time they're viewed), but it does allow all your forum's posts to be indexed by search engines; which is always a good thing. :)
