Can a Novus run/setup use vBulletin?

I would really like to start a forum but have no experience at it whatsoever.
I am what could be called a average at best, everyday Internet user.
However, I'm not a dummy either.
But I do know this... The target market I want to enter has one forum and it is terrible. It uses "Simple Machines Forum" and is so cluttered up with ads, that is is actually terribly annoying to read around in the various categories.

So... Am I out of my league?

Everyone started somewhere. Nobody magically understood any of this on their first go around.

Most consumer grade web software is designed to be fairly easy to run. Most of what you'll need is an open mind and a willingness to learn.
