I was running vb 3.8 for the longest time but my webhost forced me to upgrade the forum software.
I'm upgraded to 4.25 so far which cause lots of changes to the site. My forum users are getting acclimated to everything.
My question is, how many of you upgraded to vb5 and do you like the changes or do you prefer vb4 instead?

vB5 has become more interesting to use. Thanks to the wonderful work of yilmaz. The only point to consider will be the speed with the added mods. vB3 (or vB4) is hard to beat on this point.
Personally, I will try to integrate both vB3 and vB5 on the same domain name... I have a preference for vB3 but vb5 has strengths with the integrated tables, the integration of comments in the topics, the import of images and videos like Facebook are a big plus for me. I'm thinking of converting my custom responsive Sultantheme style vB3 to vB5 and use both vB3 and vB5. I'll probably have to do business with Sultantheme again to do this.

None. In the end, like many, you will likely end up disappointed with VB 5. At this rate you won't see VB 6 until 2030, if at all.
The software is really not all that great and is lacking in many respects in compared to other forum software. Many are leaving VB all together. Developers and those building forums. It's an option, just not a good one all around. I tried it again recently after not trying it in a few years. It's still a steaming pile.
Many have also lost members after upgrading to VB 5. So yeah. VB is dying a slow death. Unfortunately it's not what it used to be that's for sure with no good end in sight. Heck, Internet Brands own forums haven't even upgraded to VB 5 and they own VB. What does that tell you about how they feel about it and their confidence in it? LOL
And I mean, not even VB.org has moved from the old VB 3.8 days. So yeah. It seems like many with VB 3 and even 4 are in no hurry or mood to be bothered to upgrade to VB5. And keep in mind. If you ever move to a different forum software there is no way back to VB 5 without paying for it from someone. VB really is a dead monster unfortunately. Hope for it dwindles every day.
