View Full Version : VB 3.8.5 and PHP 5.6
Can anyone tell me if VB 3.8.5 will run under PHP 5.6? We are currently using 5.3 and the ISP is moving to 5.6. This really isn't my area of expertise.
Thanks!

I'm still running mine with 5.4, so I'm not entirely sure on that. But what I am sure of, is if you get your own VPS, multiple instances of PHP can be set up.
You can get a cheap VPS for $28 USD per month: https://www.knownhost.com/managed-vps.html
My server's default PHP is 7.2, which I'm using for newer products such as Xenforo & Wordpress, but my vBulletin 3.8 is set to PHP 5.4.

.
It is working on my localhost, but you have to decide for yourself.

Does vBulletin 3.8.6 work with PHP v.5.4 or 5.5? (https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vbulletin-3-8/vbulletin-3-8-installation-and-upgrades/4024482-does-vbulletin-3-8-6-work-with-php-v-5-4-or-5-5)
Thank you all, it is much appreciated. Looks like I have some reading to do.
Again, thanks!

I am using PHP 5.6 with vBulletin 3.8.9 - I would assume it would be ok. If not, why not ask your host to support multiple PHP versions? If not possible, I'd look elsewhere as many companies do this already.
