Hello:

I'd like to have custom color themes on my site similar to the ones here but still keep the default vB layouts. I'm on vB 3.8.11 and wondering how can this be done. I've poked around in the styles and templates section of the ACP and found that changing the colors around even for a new style seems to be integrated into the template code itself and I'd prefer not to break anything by modifying the wrong value. Can anyone help me with this one? I'd also like the buttons and such to have a custom color scheme and have the graphics development kits for vB 3 on stand by should those be necessary.

Does anyone have a decent tutorial on how to accomplish these things?

Images:

Got to images folder and create a folder called "red"
Copy (not cut) all the folders inside the images folder (not the red folder) and paste inside the red folder.

Now these images can be replaced with images made with GDK

Styling
Admincp > Styles & Templates > Style Manager

From the drop down of your choosen style choose "Add child style"
Name it "red" and save.
Now choose "All style options" from dropdown (default option) of red.
Here you can change image folders and colors without editting any templates.

Once you have finished repeat this process with each color scheme you want to add.

Do you have any information on working with the GDK? Your help is much appreciated

GDK (graphics development kit) are PSD files you can edit in Photoshop/GIMP.

If your not very good at editting images in Photoshop/GIMP you might want to look in the Graphic Sets section (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=213), many people over the years have made different color default buttons and icons Green (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=212341), Dark Red (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=131785&highlight=default) for example.

Alterative option:
You could also go another way which would be installing a style that has many color variations such as CA Serenity (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=218220) that has 7 colors or CA Evo (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=214585) which has 25 colors

This option does mean not using the default style which you mentioned you wanted to use but I thought I would throw this idea out there in case it was something you would be happy to compromise on.
