View Full Version : Inserting New Ad Code

Just got some new add code from an advertiser. I was given code that's in two parts:

- Some code that's supposed to be inserted in the "Head section".
- Some code that's supposed to be inserted in the "Body section".

I don't have a problem with the "Head code"...since I'm 99% sure this goes into the specific vBulletin ad template location that I choose (which is what I've always done).

What I'm not sure of is...where do I insert this "Body code" (which vBulletin template)?

Thanks

p.s. I'm guessing that putting both sets of ad code into the same specific vBulletin ad template I choose would not be correct (that would be too easy). Lol But if I'm incorrect about that...please let me know.:)

that depends on where you want to display the ad

if its after specific posts, you can add a plug in on hook postbit display complete (code provided to me from MarkFL)

global $ids;

$excluded = 88; //if you have a Usergroup to exclude from seeing Ads

if (!is_member_of($vbulletin->userinfo, $excluded) AND $post['postid'] == $ids[2] AND THIS_SCRIPT !== 'private')
{
$template_hook['postbit_end'] .= '
<CENTER>

AD CODE

</CENTER> ';
}

if you wanted to go below the navbar, you can use the Ad Location Template --> ad_navbar_below

I also on my site have ads on my Forumhome, UserCP.... depends on where you want to go with it.

Yes I'm familiar with which vBulletin ad template to use (depending where I want the ad to show up).

What's different with this new ad code is...I'm told to put part of the code into the "Head" area...and a 2nd part of the code into the "Body" area.

If both parts of the code can all go into a single vBulletin ad template (ad_navbar_below for example)...great.

Just wasn't sure it would work this way (due to two different sets of ad code...head area & body area).

Thanks

Update:

I ended up experimenting...and added both parts of the add code into the same vBulletin Ad template...and all seems to be ok.:)

Thanks for the help.
