I want to add these images in attachments to my forum. But with the new theme it has an image css sprite. Would anyone be able to help?

If I were you I'd wait until the next release. They are currently adding the ability to change the default icons. If you don't want to wait Wayne Luke has a detailed explanation of how to use the css-examples over at vBulletin.com that explains how to change the images. Glenn Vergara also has a good css_additonal.css template edit over at his site vbmods.rocks
