Editor Icons

I'm trying to bring a more modern look by replacing all the editor icons. But changing any of them even though:
- Images are the exact size: 21 x 20 px
- Format: GIF
- Transparent Background

They all appear with a white background when replaced. Any specific reason to this?

I don't know the reason, Im not a coder.

This works fine on my custom Vb3.8.11 :

AdminCP / Styles & Templates /Add New Replacement Variable for each icon (size, appareance...) for each style (use the source code of the editor template as a guideline to replace the variables).
