Would like to add some metadata to my website. Don't know if it will help with website traffic or not. Don't think there's anything purposeful in place at the moment...so maybe something/anything will be helpful.

Website runs on vBulletin 4...can someone explain exactly where the metadata should be added (what file...where on the file...etc.)?

Basically the goal is to have an improved site description when folks do search engine searches.

Thanks

Can some kind person explain how to do this please. I want to add metadata or metadata tags to my website...so that this info shows up in search engine searches.

I've been told to add this info to either the "headinclude" or "headinclude_bottom" templates...what I don't fully understand is:

- Where in these templates should the metadata or metatags be placed? At the very top...at the very bottom...or within the code on these templates (between specific lines of code)?
- If between specific lines of code on these templates...between or inside which code?
- Does this metadata or metadata tag info need to we wrapped in code itself...and if so...what code is it?

What I specifically wanted to do was...insert a:

- Title meta tag.
- Description meta tag.
- Keywords meta tag.

Thanks very much...hopefully someone can help.:)

You want it as close to the top as possible or at least that's how it used to be. It shouldn't matter where you put it in the headinclude templates.

Sounds good...thanks.

Does the info need to go inside certain code on the headinclude templates so it's read properly...and/or does theis megatag data need to be wrapped in some code itself?

Thanks
