View Full Version : Disallow .gif for message attachment?
Hi all!
I'd like to do two things:
1) Disallow .gif when folks upload images. Default currently allows jpg, jpeg, png, gif. How do I do that?
2) Only allow URL - not direct from computer - as that would take space on my server. How do I only show the URL tab and disable the "upload from computer" tab?
Thanks in advance!

/admincp/attachment.php?do=types
disable gif
Message Attachment Options
set to 0 for attachment inputs
Hi Snakes and thanks for taking the time to help!
Is this something I do in admincp or do I download and edit the attachment.php? If the latter, I'm not sure what or where to put "disable gif"?

I would like to allow pdf files, but it appears I can't upload - even directly from a URL....

Look in the sidebar on the left, for a section called "Attachments." Using the "Attachment Manager" you can define which extensions you wish to allow on your installation, and using the "Attachment Permissions" you can set the permissions for each extension for each usergroup, including disabling any extension for any usergroups you desire.
Ohhhhhh....I was looking the whole time in the entire admincp > Options area...I did realize it was on the left sidebar the whole time. :D
Thanks Snakes and Mark!

By the way, I tried "liking" both your posts, but got the message:
You must 'Like' someone else's post before liking any more by xxxxx.
