how to merge the messages of a guest with those of a member

I accidentally deleted members, is it possible to merge the messages of a deleted member with the messages of another member

Thats why you always make backups before doing big deletes.

A backup would be your best option. I believe vBulletin does leave the username still behind in certain places (postusername/username column in the tables) so you could bind those deleted posts back to a new forum account, but it's all quite some work.
