Lynne, BirdOPrey5, MarkFL, Dismounted, Princeton and Paul M have stepped down from their positions here on vBulletin.org, you can view the original thread w/ information as to why here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=325300). The former staff have stepped-down, they're not gone permanently and may or may not visit frequently, we shall love them all the same regardless!

I closed that thread as it continued to have comments regarding IB/vB being made instead of paying tribute to the fine people who maintained this site for years and did one heck of a job at that! This thread will remain open for anyone to pay tribute, give kind words, or anything positive about Lynne, BirdOPrey5, MarkFL, Dismounted, Princeton, and Paul M! You can share funny moments from the past, something you learned from them, anything as long as its positive and fun! Make them smile when they do happen to visit and read your comments .

Disclaimer: Any mentioning of IB/vB in this thread will have your post edited or possibly removed, this is not the thread for opinions on the company or their decisions, its strictly a homage/tribute thread for former staff members.

I can't thank them all enough, I wouldn't be half of the website developer I'am today if not for the former staff listed, I learned so much over the years from them including coding, logic, and patience ;).

So, this is kind of a He-who-must-not-be-named situation, is it? :D

Then I'll take the opportunity to thank Paul, Lynne, BirdOPrey5, MarkFL, Dismounted and Princeton for all the work they put into this site, helping others, and while doing so always maintaining an open minded and positive vibe to this place. I learned a lot from them, from following the tipps they gave to myself and to others, and from looking at the code of their modifications. And I applaud them for doing the right thing.

*bows in deep respect*

I dont know how to thank Lynee and Paul (and others) for all help in past.
This is such a shame, must say I am most likely leaving VB as soon as I decide which new software I will use....

But as I can see BirdOPrey5 appears to be IB Staff. Nothing bad for it, the only that I'm curious is because somewhere (maybe in the othre thread), I read that IB will only allows IB staff to be Administrators here. Maybe I misred ot misunderstood? IB staff is different than IB Support team?

IB Staff simply denotes people who work for Internet Brands in some capacity...such as myself.
Such people are not staff members here on this site.

This is a poor attempt to control the content of the speech, and while the site has every right to do so it is counterproductive to attempting to explain why the people who were here and now are gone were so valuable to this community. Yes, I thank each and every one of them here, as I have done in the now closed thread, but to summarily dismiss the cause of the effect is intellectually dishonest. All of those people should still be here. I have every right to be angry, and make no mistake, I am angry. Those were the people who made this software worth owning.

I can understand your frustration but this thread is a place for thanking everyone for their years of service here, its not the place to vent in the least. Please forego these type of posts in this thread everyone - we can all relate but simply not the place for it here.

Thanks to all of you. :)

LSM, When people think they are being censored they tend to make more of a fuss than if you just leave them alone (or are you just following orders ?)

I just want a place where people can say thanks to them all, a safe place free of negative vibes - the other thread was getting iffy vibe wise so I closed on my own accord no orders to follow as none were given, that was my choice to close it - I just knew it was going to run off course negatively.

Back to topic! Like how everyone who volunteered here that left will be greatly missed (so when you guys visit and see this you better login even if its just to pick around with me via pm's!).

I've only encountered Lynne, BirdOPrey5, and Princeton during my time on vbulletin and they were amazing <3 Thank you. Especially Lynne, she spent many times tackling annoying weird bugs i had on my forum.

It's been a long time since I posted here, but well that was a shocker.
All the staff that left were great contributors. Edit: Removed by Staff

Unbelievable.

I will miss all of those folks. I can't really see being a regular member here without them. Sad. I believe this thread may have been well-intentioned, but will do more harm than good. You can't regulate opinion.

As for the departing staff, see you out there on the interwebz and undying and sincere thanks for all of your tireless work and help here. You are all awesome!

So what will happen to Mods and it Mods updates of vBulletin 4 ?

Those who left are one of the best who check & give good feedback about submitted Mods

I can't speak for the rest, I left my position as a moderator on principle. I haven't abandoned the site completely.

Same here. I'm still undergoing the arduous process of moving support for my products elsewhere.

Modifications will continue to come and go, we'll see new ones and some will go to the graveyard or be removed if security issues are found etc, nothing has changed or will change about that process ;).

This is no good for vBulletin. I am saddened by the management decision, Farewell team.

Well, we also have to thank all of them! 2004 we changed the forum software to vbulletin and had up to 3 running websites built with vb.

Thanks for all the help, thanks for all modification and thanks for all the kindness!

Take care!

Man, this sucks.. I can't tell you how many times Lynne has helped me. This makes me sad to read all this. Is there a new site?

BirdOPrey5
09-17-2017, 09:35 AM
I am not aware of any site where Lynne continues to offer VB support, I believe she took this opportunity to spend more time with family.

Paul and one or two others have since become staff at "The Admin Zone" forums, easy to Google.

I continue to browse both sites as a regular user. I don't anticipate new mods but if I do make some I would probably continue to release them here as this remains the main source for VB Modifications.

Or they've always used vbulletin.com forums instead and just now made it over here. Way to go off topic gents :p.

Landed here while having a Christmas holiday browse through old haunts.
vb.org helped me a lot from 2001 to 2013 while I was using vb and I was proud to give a little back and if memory serves me correctly, I even had the Coder title under my name at one point.

A very belated thanks to the staff who helped me over the years and I hope the future is good for you.
