So, I am sure every forum owner that sells through paypal has this issue.
Some idiot purchases a paid subscription from your forum, gets access to a private section of the forum, grabs what he needs and opens a chargeback.
How does one protect against this?
PayPal requires proof that the user received what he paid for, how can we proof the user received it?
Is there something in the vBulletin system that can help us?
Thanks!
It's incredibly hard to protect against this, especially when it comes to digital items/services.
People could use stolen PayPal accounts or credit card information and you stand no chance.

We cover physical goods (not digital items or services) that are sold and shipped with proof of delivery from within the United States to buyers around the globe.
Best thing you can do is refund payment/accept liability. If you receive an increasing amount of chargebacks and you wait for PayPal to make a decision on the case, you could get your account frozen/closed.

Turn on the "Who Read a Thread" logging, then you can see they visited/opened a thread.

That is indeed a very neat trick.
You know of others like this?
EDIT:
PayPal likes it when we provide them with all the IP's the user has used in order to win the case.
So they can compare them with their database.
Anybody knows of a plugin that logs all the IP's the user uses?

Who Read a Thread logs the IP as well.
You can also use this : https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=232636

My advice is to do away with PayPal completely because they could kick you to the curb any time they want and they do it all the time.
