View Full Version : Search engines and link popularity (sp?)

This should be a very easy hack, and would be quite useful for alot of our forums and getting good rankings in the search engines...

What if there was a way that vbulletin.com had a dynamic list of all the forums live on the net, then each user could have a simple se.shtml file that had a <!include line that grabbed this list of vBs on the net, the once a month or so, vB could run a cron job, use some thing like dump truck or any other submission program, and send a list of all the se.shtml files to all the search engines, when the spiders come crawling, each site would have a huge link popularity... the only thing I can think of, would be that the links would have to be given in the include randomly, so the same site isn't the #1 site on all the links, cose some spiders only read the first 100 links or so... any who, if anyone wants to give it a shot, feel free to, or add on to this thread with any ideas...

If this dosent make any sense, im sorry, and delete this, i have been in bed for the last month recovering from chest surgery, and havent had more then a few hours of sleep in the last week :D

You would have to do it on multiple pages, i have read search engines now ignore pages of hundreds of links for this very reason.
