And show the search phrase in who's online. This would really rock for me as I would like to know what they search for.

This would be very cool (and even easy), but there's one big problem.
Searches expire after one week.

What does that mean? It just needs to create a list and then if you click on that it will redo a search for the same thing. That way even if it expired, you are renewing the search.

You can only see what people have searched for before a week passes, because then the record is deleted from the search table.
But I guess you can add a searchhistory table, that will contain:
- user who searched
- terms of search
- date of search

Could you write it to another php file or html? That way you don't have to have extra queries on the db and if you click on the search term in the generated list it will just creat a new search for that term

Why writing things to a static file when you have the MySQL database?
Isn't the point of a database to avoid flat files?

Just didn't know about adding ever increasing server load with all these hacks.
