This is one I'm getting about 50 a day on.
mysqli_real_connect(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known
That problem is related to your host, not vBulletin.

That looks like a dns failure on your server, when it tried to lookup the IP address of your MySQL server.

I'm able to get into the forum fine, and we have other posters getting in.
VBulletin is always sending error messages, but this one has been quite consistent.
Since the host is Godaddy, I don't see an easy fix unless I spend a good amount of time pursuing it. These types of issues can take hours to troubleshoot.
I was thinking it might have been a security issue of some sort with an easy fix.

Why would it work sometimes and not others?

Is this causing any kind of problem for any users, or can I ignore it?
TIA
I'm pretty sure it will halt execution of the script when that happens, so yes it will cause problems and display a white page or database error on the screen.
