When I or members of my forum (http://www.minibuggy.net) try to link to pictures the URL of the picture doesn't show up in the message window.
This probably explains it better than anything (post on my forum (http://www.minibuggy.net/forum/minibuggy-net-lounge/22425-img-links-post-creation.html#post322121)) :
I've not been able to figure out how to have it post the actual URL link either - it immediately puts in the picture or that stupid little box and you can't edit.
Since I use the MBN server (through my old Yellow Dog Racing site) to host my pix I'll copy the url of the location and then hit control-V to paste each pic and edit before I post.
Example (spaces added in the [ img] and boxes so it won't put what I'm trying to show in one of these stupid boxes -> edit note - box doesn't show up here in this Forum )
Say I have a bunch of pix to add.
I'd write this code first:
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_12.JPG
Where the IMG_12.JPG is actually a link to IMG_1234.JPG but since I have pix 1234-1236 to add I'd do this:
highlight and then copy (ctrl-c) the above link then ctrl-v to paste the incomplete link as many times as needed:
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_12.JPG
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_12.JPG
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_12.JPG
Then I go back in and add the image number:
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_1234.JPG
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_1235.JPG
[ img]http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Raptor/IMG_1236.JPG
Then when I hit the "go advanced" button it'll show what I'm trying to post. If it's not right or such, just erase the box, hit ctrl-V and modify the link to a working pic.
Photobucket can be picky about the links - almost have to open each picture in it's own tab then collect the URL from that to paste here.
I'll go check the site's settings and see if there's some sort of URL input checked or unchecked that it's not allowing editing of URL for images and I'll also go hit up the vBulletin forum and see what settings are needed to make things work.
Anyone have thoughts on what's up with this and how do I turn it off (or on?) so that it shows the HTML coding and not the picture or the little box that's supposed to be a picture (but is incorrectly coded)?
As always, thanks in advance.
