Moved server. vB being redirected to install page on new server.

Moved server.
Uploaded all the vB files (that were downloaded from old server).
DB restored.
Now when you go to the URL, it gets redirected to the install page as if you are doing a fresh install and since the install file doesn't exist anymore, its giving error.

Why does vB think I am doing a fresh install when I have simply downloaded files from one server and uploaded onto another and restored the db?

Chances are the database credentials have changed and need updating in includes/config.php

Thanks. It works now. But the site is all messed up. The theme has disappeared. And now there's just text on a white background. Any ideas what could have caused this?

That usually indicates that the base URL is not configured correctly. Usually happens when your domain name is different or if you installed it in a different folder name on the server.
