Those of you that do not use PayPal, what do you use instead?

I have had my PayPal account since 2003 and suddenly they are are reviewing transactions and I am afraid they may limit my account permanently so I am looking for alternatives.

Thanks,
Rich

It's kind of hard to beat PayPal when it comes to userbase.
https://stripe.com is very popular when it comes to credit and debit cards payments.

PayPal suddenly dropped me a year ago because I run a (legal!) torrent site and accepted donations for server costs. I set up a Skrill account which seems to be popular with European users. But, what worked better was setting up a GoFundMe account. It is very easy for users to use. However, boy do they take a chunk of the donations for themselves (about 10%)!

Yep, I just found out today my account was dropped. I really have no idea as it has been in good standing since about 2003. They said some of my transactions go against their policies.. Got me.. They were also nice enough to tell me they are holding my money for 180 days. How very thoughtful of them.

I will have to look into a credit card processing merchant like Stripe as Dave mentioned and maybe I will also look into Patreon and GoFunndMe. I really never thought of using those as a substitute for PayPal but if it is easy for a client or advertiser to pay and if it is secure enough then it would be decent.

I sure do not like that 10% fee though with GoFundMe.. That is high!

Thanks for the suggestions! I really appreciate it! :)

Patreon
Do you use this? What are the fees involved? Any other advice or info would be helpful. :)

Thanks!

Another downside of GoFundMe is that everyone can see how much you obtained in donations.

Patreon fees can be found here: https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204606125-How-do-you-calculate-fees-

In regards to Patreon I was wondering how clients would pay there and how I can collect the money, minimum payouts, etc.

I am looking into stripe now because that is one of the options in Patreon for payout.. Either stripe or paypal.

Not necessarily. They can set it to show as Anonymously (the campaign starter/owner can see the name, but others cannot).

#Update

I have Stripe and WePay for credit card processing now and also coinbase for Bitcoin. I have used both a couple times without a hitch!

I do have gofundme account and a Patreon account but I have not finished setting those up.

ByeBye Paypal!

Not sure I will be able to sell any more on Ebay but I can live without that..

Thanks for the suggestions!

I use https://squareup.com/i/A4660F1B

made a custom payment module for it and all

(shamelessly used my referral link for $1000 in free processing for anyone that uses it to sign up.. THEY get $1000 in free processing [can sell $1000 worth with no fees])

pretty much the same rates as paypal without the restrictions and directly linked to my bank for daily deposits!

Stripe has been great so far with no problems and it works right through my invoicing. I have also been using Coinbase for Bitcoin and it works excellent.

I do not need PayPal any more! :)

are you using my freshly-updated coinbase payment mod?

No need, I send a link to coinbase through my invoicing system.
