Is there a mod for post backgrounds per user ? I found an example of this here (a smf forum) (http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=73533). If not, I'd love to see one made, thanks.

Close but limited. I think what that example I shared allows user to select their own background image that displays in every post, like a signature would for example.

Make custom profile field. And ask users to post the url of the images in the profile field.

Not tested but should work. Change fieldx for the ID of custom profile field.
