I heard that it is impossible to run Memcached or Zend Opcache for vB4 if we upgrade to PHP7
Is that correct?

My test site is running on 7.0.9 with opcache.
No idea about memcached, what is the problem with that ?

Using memcached with my vB forum, If upgrade to PHP7, I can not use memcached anymore which I don't want.
Are there any alternatives for memcached for vB4.2.x?

As far as I can see, the only issue with memcached is actually getting it installed with php 7, I have seen a few sites with instructions. There are no alternatives I know of, I dont think APC can be used on php 7, or xcache. Just use the standard datastore, you really are not going to tell the difference.

Actually, it looks like APCu is supported on php 7, for key pair caching, its basically an emulation of APC.
