View Full Version : Looking for Youtube in My Articles

I have searched this entire site and either I am blind or this does not exist.
I am in the process of adding a lot of articles to my vB 4.2.3 suite and do not see any native options to display Youtube videos.
I installed the MarkFL - Fluid Youtube-Vimeo Video BBCodes v1.5 mod and it works ok, but it displays strangely in my layout.
What I am looking for is a mod that allows me to just post the youtube link and have it display a player automatically. I saw a couple of mods that did this, but they only do it in the forums. I need it in the CMS Articles.
Ideas?

Hello!
Can you give me a link to one of your articles with a video using my BBCode so I can see what's going on and offer you a solution that looks like you want?

<a href="http://www.hidingplace.com/forums/content.php" target="_blank">http://www.hidingplace.com/forums/content.php</a>
There are several articles there. The "All heaven Declares" article has a box that displays the video. But the video image is only shows up as a thumbnail inside of the box. When I created the article, I turned off the "Full Display in Section" option, I do not want the entire article to show up here.
That is when this happens.
Scroll down and you will see the "Above All" article. This is displaying the entire article, so the video displays properly. However, scrolling down more, the problem repeats itself on the "10,1000 Reasons" article.

Okay, now I see the articles, and it appears that there is some native cms CSS interfering.
As a test, try adding the following selector to your "additional.css" template:
.showpreviewonly iframe {
float: none !important;
height: 100% !important;
width: 100% !important;
border: none !important;
margin: 0 !important;
outline: none !important;
}
If this works, I will add this to the product's CSS so you won't have to have these selector's in your template, nor worry about adding it to each style. :)

That seems to have worked. Thank you so much.
Now, if only this mod worked on Godtube.com

Okay...I will update the product so that the CSS is automatically added, so when you import the update, you can remove the CSS you added to you "additional.css" template. It should take me only about 10 minutes or so.
After that, I will look into adding support for godtube.com. :)

Okay, I have made the update. :)

When I view a video on GodTube, and get the embed code, it has a YouTube url...so, I don't know what the deal is there. :)

GodTube takes from a variety of sources, not just Yourtube.
There was a mod that did this, but it does not work.
