Hi there,

I just updated to the latest vb4 version and since i did a long time no "housekeeping" in my forum I deinstalled vbseo and setup vb friendly URLs. But now I have some serious issues with my urls. I can open the homepage and see that forums, subform and threads have the new url structure, but when I click a URL a 404 message appears with this text:

The requested URL /forums/13-Holzkohlegrill was not found on this server.

Any idea why I have this problem and how to fix it?

Cheers!

Did you edit .htaccess?

Yes, I did. I found this one here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-4/vbulletin-4-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/333733-mod-rewrite-friendly-urls-htaccess/page15) and used it.

Try using the one in my signature. The rewrite rules are a bit different in that you can add the default ones (in the post) or rewrite rules for a different product (dbseo, vbseo etc).

Check to see also if you ticked the right checkbox, which should be Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs for those rewrite rules you pointed us towards.

Sounds like you have not fully removed vBSEO, did you remove the product as well as the files and htaccess.

At least i think so. I removed it from the backend, checked the FTP and thought that this was it...

Tried that one from your post, but didn't change anything. Can you give further help please? This issue drives me crazy in the meantime..

Is mod rewrite actually enabled on your server ? and htaccess enabled in your directories ?

Yes, sure. I'm using a few wordpress installations on the same server with working htaccess. It also worked before with vbseo. Is it possible that the speaking urls from vbulletin are not working and the ones from vbseo are still active? Like in a cache or something?

May be there is a conflict from other htaccess file above your forums folder.

Add this to the first line of your htaccess file and see if it helps.
