It's not an option at this time.
I may add languages as an option in the Pro version in the future. But, I really don't know which languages are the most common.

Where are you trying to search for movies? There is no built in search function.
And what movie are you searching for?

I tried to search for a movie on the TMBD site to get the id or link to post in the title of new thread, no luck for the first 3 movies i searched for, no results... so then I searched an old movie and found one but could not find id anywhere so I tried posting the url of the page in the title box, nothing has worked. I may be using this completely wrong or something not sure...

That's why I asked what movie you were searching for. So I could see if I could find it.
Also the Title box for a new thread should not be showing. See this image https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=145500&d=1371648426
In any case the URL that gets pasted into the box looks like this (using the movie Alien as an example)..
http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/348-alien
Or from that URL, the move ID would be 348

Go to ACP->Maintenance->View PHP Info and see if CURL is listed there and if it's enabled.
If it is, have you entered an API Key for The Movie Database in ACP->Settings->Options, 'TMDb Thread Settings'? Without it, the system will not work.
I know it's marked 4.2.1 but has anyone got it working on 4.2.0 ?
I just tried it myself on 4.2.0 and there is no place to enter movie link or id

The system has not been tested on 4.2.0, so no support will be given for that version.
But, did you turn on the system after installing?
And did you select a Forum that will be used by the system?
Yes and Yes :)
Thanks for the quick reply, at least we now know it won't work on 4.2.0 so it should help others before they try it.
Maybe I will upgrade soon :D
Great job either way, nominated for MOTM

Well, I'm going to go back on that. I just tested it on 4.2.0 PL3 and it works with one minor problem. 4.2.0 does not support the HR BBCode tag. So..
Edit the 'TMDb Newthread Process' plugin, locate and remove this from it..
Done and still the same for me.
API key entered and mod turned on.
See attached where "Title" has not changed to "TMDB link or Movie ID"
Thanks :)

Did you select the forum that will hold the movie threads?
Try using the default, unedited vB style and see if it works. If it does, then there's a problem with your style. If it doesn't it's possible another mod is interfering with this mod.

Your site is running vB 3.8.6..

No, it only works in forums.
I haven't tried it, but you could try promoting the post to an article to see if that works.

Disucssions about the pro version are not handled here on vB.org.
Great mod. Thank you for the opportunity to use it. Considering, that it's in everybody's interest, I wanted to point out that social sharing by the means of social buttons (i.e. facebook) is limited to the name of the Board and the description of the board.
I think it would be beneficial for everybody if there were some updates made in reference to Facebook Open Graph.
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
I do not want to get anybody upset but do think that the role of facebook in ref. to website promotion should not be overlooked in such a great modification.
I am far from being knowledgeable in the subject. Unlike BirdOPrey5 whose More Share Option (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=266159) made social sharing more productive. May be if you gentlemen could talk to each other...
Thank you
I think I have to retract. Everything seems to work now. Weird.

Right now the movie image created inside a thread has a size of 185x278 pixels. Is there a way to change the size to 200x301?
I tried changing it in newpost_process but it just fails to display.
Thank You

The size of the image comes directly from TMDb. It is not controllable by the add-on.
I see. Facebook does not recognize images under 200x200. Unfortunate.

Interesting considering I see many, many images sized at 76x114.
Regardless, Great mod. Great. Simply love it. Rating of the movies would be next great addition to it ))

No it doesn't.
The TV API from TMDb works differently from the Movie API. The reponses and queries are different.
AND the TV API at TMDb isn't complete yet. There are critical functions missing from it.

Thank you nhawk: great mod!
I just amended few things in the "newpost_process" plugin.
1) I added the language option, so to extract title and plot in Italian, as follows:
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, "http://api.themoviedb.org/3/movie/" . $tmdbid . "?api_key=" . $vbulletin->options['tmdbthreads_api'] . "&language=it&include_image_language=it,null" . "&append_to_response=casts");
2) I added addslashes to the movietitle in the SQL because of the symbols (as ' ) we have in our language:
$isposted = $vbulletin->db->query_first("SELECT threadid, tmdb_title FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread WHERE tmdb_title = '" . addslashes($movietitle) . "' AND tmdb_release = '" . $releasedate . "' AND forumid = '" . $foruminfo
3) I put variables $movietitle and $plot under utf8_decode() so to avoid gibberish characters and obtain ISO-8859-1 correct accented characters.
