Side Column in Showthread that works?

Anyone know of a way to make a side column that will work in Showthread? I just need a simple column, about 175px wide, on the left-side. That's it.

None of the side column mods I've tried in the past work in Showthread. :(

Any ideas?

I would likely look into creating a plugin (Hook Location: showthread_complete) that adds the required HTML to create the side column at an appropriate location. :)

Easier said than done (for me at least :D).

Do you use vbadvanced? Adding columns anywhere is a breeze if you are.

There is a few older addons and template edits that will give you left and or right columns for your 3.8 board.

Search above for "columns" All mods, Title only.

You will find a few as far back as 3.6 that will still work.

To add columns to your site via vba is quick and easy.

First, in your asp, vba cmps, create new page, on that page, add modules to either right, left or both columns.
Then click Integrate in the vba cmps drop down, then in the Integrate New Pages section, in the drop down, select the page that you just created.

Below that in the vBulletin Files to Integrate section, select the page(s) you want the side columns to show. scroll down click continue. on the page that follows click Save.

Go look at the page you just integrated vba columns to.

That's the sidebar add-on found HERE (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=204773) it works just great. In the ACP settings you can have it left, right, on every page or just one page, or only on the page you select.

Yea I saw it, thanks Max. Which sidebar mod is that? I've used Ultimate sidebar, and the vietBB one.. neither work in showthread.

Yea thats the sidebar I use, doesn't work in showthread with a fixed width.It depends on the vB default template hooks being present. Therefore it won't appear on some custom styles. On all 22 of my custom styles both fixed and fluid, this sidebar appears in showthread. You are missing a template hook in your showthread template.
