View Full Version : Change Post Total

I recently deleted a lot of posts from my board, thousands and thousands and thousands! ;)

Basically my problem is that I need to increase the post total so that it appears as if no posts were deleted. Is this possibly? Without mucking up the board?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

here is a hack that when you delete posts the user post counts dont go down.

I know and I used that but the total post count still went down for some reason :(

Anyone? ;)

But I don't have space for all the posts :( And I haven't found an easy way of removing attachments :(

Couldn't you just find which PHP file the variables are initialized in and add whatever number you want to that initialization line?

Well, think of it in this way. If you are going to get a Vb and use it on your website, make sure that you can handle the posts.

I can understand not being able to know if you can handle them or not. But what if your Forums gets popular and you get tons of Members and they post, what are you going to do? Keep deleting 1000's of posts?

Ouch. :o

So nobody knows how to do it?

All I want to do is have it so that when I prune the total post number doesn't go down. I know this may not sound very ....erm...conventional but its what i would like to do so can someone please show me what code to edit or how to add the posts back I lost and to avoid the TOTAL post count going down in future.

Thanks,

Matt
