Due to the recent hack on the main vBulletin.com site, its quite possible that the hacker(s) may have gained access to the vb.org database as well.

Therefore we have taken the precaution of resetting all user password hashes.

To be able to login to the site again you will need to use the lost password functionality.

We apologise for any inconvienience this may cause.

Some people have no life! If the hackers read this I personally hope the jock straps suffer for it!

No problem Paul. Took all of 2 minutes to get squared away.

Looks like vb.com did a second password reset ... ?

I did the first one two days ago but got another email this morning @ 0300 saying reset must be done again. For .com and member area.

I received the following email at 12:43 pm EST (just now saw it)

Dear MarkFL,

Your account on vBulletin.org Forum has been locked because someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 41.47.56.168

Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Use the link below:

All the best,
vBulletin.org Forum

That's definitely not my IP address. I of course changed my password the other day to a very strong one, but I pass this along in case the information is useful.

Yes they did, I was also thrown off by having to reset my password again but they clarified in a ticket reply I just noticed via email. No worries, I'd rather them reset as they see fit to avoid any malicious logins.

If you changed it the "other day" on vbulletin.com forums and/or the members area then the members area password was reset again (see above) so be sure to reset it to a strong password once again. Edit: Although if reset then their login attempts will fail but so you know, will be required to reset it again.

Not really, just different areas done at different times.

The forums were reset first, later we decided to also do the members area passwords as well.

Old password: 'password' ... New password: 'newPassword' ... that will stop the crackers :D (note the smart use of a capital letter :p )
