that's a feature of vB and is in your postbit templates.. you need to enable show online in edit options for your admin panel

it's not.

by default, it's on, and it's the V logo, as an image. you can edit the code to make it something different, but I don't see anything else referring to "online" or "offline" and I'm using 2.2.0

hmmm, well i like the glowing online and offline deal that they have here, just wondering how i could do that....

There's a special setting for the text so you could make it like that... I guess you have to edit what it looks like.. not really sure on that one.. lol

hmmmmmmmmm, well i really don't know how to do it, otherwise i would post it :)

replace the template "postbit_online" with this:

<table style="filter:glow(color=red)">Online</table>

and replace the template "postbit_offline" with this:

Offline

Now I'm just not sure on how to define the glow size, the color is no problem but the size, hmm...

EDIT: okay, here it is:

<table style="filter:glow(color=#C4C400, strength=2)">Online</table>

There, voil?. :)

You might wanna relocate $onlinestatus in your postbit template to a better place. :)

Well I installed this hack, and it always says I'm online. Basically I've cleared cookies logged out correctly... pretty much done everything I can. How can I fix this, or what might it be?

Also I have used another account on my forum and and now it says were both online all the time... I dunno what to do.

Hi. I Have the online/offline working... Except the color doesn't change. Any ideas? Thanks bunches!

LuBi
11-14-2001, 04:06 AM
Well I got mine going but color change like what for online? Or do you mean online one color offline another?

Diva
11-14-2001, 04:17 AM
When the member is online it glows. Here's the line of code to place in "postbit_online":

<table style="filter:glow(color=#C4C400, strength=2)">Online</table>

But the color stays the same.

LuBi
11-14-2001, 04:29 AM
What do you mean stays the same? It's supposed to be one color. then when the user is offline it becomes plain text no glow saying Offline ....?

Admin

Diva, I'm afraid the glow effect doesn't work with Netscape.
Is that what you're using?

LuBi, are you sure you're logged out?
This is probably a cookie problem... *shrugs*

Hi, Firefly! Nope, I'm using Netscape 4.78. I noticed that the online in VB.org doesn't change colors either. I thought it did before. So there's no way to show a different color when online for IE?

but.. it messes up my tables when someone is offline all the buttonsmove to the left side and the ip logged moves to the left as well.

Sorry, I meant to say it's not working with Netscape. It does work with IE.
But then my inner dyslectic side interrupted me. ;)

It's alright, I forgive you ;)

So, it's a nix on working with Netscape then? Not even using html?

Yea I had that also you can't just put

Offline

change it to

<table>Offline</table>
that will make it right.

And Firefly I fixed things, thanks I"m just impatient it takes longer to log someone off I guess...

It ain't that hard to find!

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options (or Change options in 2.0.3) -> Who's Online -> Enable Who's Online -> Yes -> Sve changes

Of course this assumes that you upgraded correctly and reverted the correct templates. Check the Announcements thread for your version on the vbulletin.com forums for more info.

Which postbit has registered, location, etc info? I want to move my $onlinestatus there.

beemer

It is in postbit, search for the word registered and put it just above it. Don't move the <td>, leave it where it was.
