Okay been waiting to request this for ages so a little abuse of mod powers in sticking the thread :)
I want to be able to
1. select per forum to convert attachments in database to files in and specify a specific server directory i.e. /public_html/attach_images/forum1
2. be able to using the template system browse this server directory containing the converted attachments and call each image and display them on a gallery page like gallery.php?forumid=xxx&perpage=xxx
3. the gallery page will order the attachments in sections links alphabetically displayed by user who posted the attachments (text linked username would do fine or better yet optional to show one of their attachments as the link to their gallery i.e. linked to gallery.php?forumid=xxx&perpage=xxx&userid=xxx
shorter urls would be nice or using modrewrite so gallery.php/fxxx/pxxx/uxxx or something
4. attachments viewed via gallery are counted in the number of views to the attachment like in posts
5 optional: member bookmark favourite attachments so they can view them at like gallery.php?action=bookmarked&userid=xxxx
Admin
- Admin side for admins can browse, edit, remove and backup pipe/convert directory into zip file containing directory's attachment images
- Admin can add optional captions under each attachment on gallery.php
Mods
- Can only add optional captions under each attachment on gallery.php
Note: For image manipulation i can use either
Imagemagik - http://www.imagemagick.org/
Netpbm binaries - http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=7130&release_id=31626 / http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/netpbm
Anyone up for the challenge ? :D

Hey Eva, I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for, but take a look at this new gallery software made specifically for vB. http://www.techimo.com/photopost It looks great!

George,
I used Gallery on www.cpfc.org and know a little about the code. Using the userbase is certainly possible and the developers would probably do some work in this regard if a formal request was placed - I'll look into it and report back.
As for using the VB template system this is a little more involved but I'll ask the question.

George,
I asked the question.
Basically it is going to be quite involved but possible. Apparently there is a VBportal addon that does this already though . . .
I'll keep you informed.

Here's a coupon code good for $35.00 off of PhotoPost until February 10th: POST35. Since it is selling very well there may not be other promotions like this in the future.
PhotoPost took hundreds of hours to develop - it's a very extensive app. There is a vbPortal front end "php wrapper" version that lets it integrate very easily into vbPortal sites, and a similar vBulletin wrapper is coming soon, although it can currently use vBulletin's user database.

Hi Scott,
So when is this vBulletin wrapper? I (and I know other users) had problems with the vbPortal scripts, and we were sent back and forth between techimo and wajones of vbPortal.
I agree that photopost is a great script, but you have to pull your finger out and start making improvements rapidly or you're going to lose the momentum. I purchased the script a few months ago and it hasn't developed as quickly as I would have liked.
Get another developer on board if you're too busy and get working on improving photopost. By integrating with the vBulletin community you're working with people who WILL PAY for a script - everyone here should have paid for vBulletin, and most sites that I know would benefit from a Gallery system that integrates perfectly with vBulletin. Release the vBulletin wrapper here as a Hack and support it here and you will reap the rewards I'm sure.
And here endith the rant.
:D
Cheers,
Ross

I have used this hack here
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45876
and made it into a images page...
only problem is, I cannot get it to make a new page after XX amount of images have been inserted on the main page...
if some1 can figure this out, I would love to know how to make the comics.php page goto a new page after XX amount of images have been created on the page...

that comics hack seems to work using hyperlinks images, i'd really like it use attachments if possible?
if i could hack i'd make it coz i really can't imagine it'd be that much hard work, for example i'd imagine i'd be very similar to teck's vbhl hack, where it's just a matter of including the attachments from the predetermined forum or forums
