I posted thin on Wordpress-community yesterday (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/inventing-the-wheel-again-vbulletin-comment-bridge) and I think it might be a good idea to post it here too, for feedback.

I've been looking for a while for a plugin that actually synchronizes comments between vBulletin- and WordPress, but still I have not found anything that fulfills my requirements - so I'm thinking of creating such thing. But there may be a small risk that I'm inventing the wheel again. This is how I want it to work:

- You create a post on your wordpress-site. When the post are created, a thread will created on the forum.
- When comments arrive on the wP-side, the forum will be updated with the comments and when comments arrive on the vBulletin-side, comments will be updated in the blogpost.

(Sidenote - When anything updates, posts are synched). My solution differs a bit from other plugins here. Normally I've seen plugins where migration is more common than transparently bridging posts between the platforms. Other plugins also offers a comment system, with links to the forum, instead of using the internal functions.

So, how big is the risk, that this wheel already exists without me knowing it? :)

Not sure if you've tried this mod out or not:
2. *New post sync - new WP posts are intelligently posted to the matching forum. There are some controls on which forum they are posted to.
Options:
- Posts can be attributed to the user posting or
- All posts can be attributed to a designated user
I haven't, since I don't use WP or own a WP website.

POST SYNC BETWEEN WORDPRESS AND VBULLETIN
Any new posts on your WordPress can get posted to your forum category of choice on your vBulletin and vice versa. We’ve thought of everything.
REPLIES COPIED BETWEEN WORDPRESS AND VBULLETIN
Replying to a thread in vBulletin, and you’ll notice it gets replied as a comment on that WP Post.
^ Although it costs $499 lol

Those are the only ones I could find. So yeah, if neither does what you say you want to do, then there is a good chance your product isn't invented yet.
