I posted this in the wrong forum it seems originally.

But what I am looking for is a way to filter out all activity stream entries from social groups started, posts, images, image comments, anything to do with social groups IF ,..

... when The viewer does NOT have permission to view the group.

IE: when group is private, view blocked if youy must join, and if join by invite only.

This needs to include moderators and super moderators, but not administrators.

I have looked in the group templates as well as all activity stream php files and templates and cannot find where or how this can be done.

FYI, I have the following mod installed ,..

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=266892
Private Social Groups mod

--------------- Added 1441669989 at 1441669989 ---------------

After a few tests, basically only the supermods have permissions to view without joining.

This I need to filter out of the activity streams.

It shows for everyone that someone created a said group, least of my concerns, but that would be an addition also.

Have you posted in the thread for that mod instead. They may have an idea why its not blocking everything you want it to block.

Yes, and in the top post it is marked as unsupported and why it will not be.

So I hoped to find someone here that might know a bit about the activity stream permissions masks in regards to groups that may point me in the right direction.

Well making two posts/threads about the same thing will probably only piss off the staff. But pretty much they do not help you with a mod not working properly out here in the regular forums. That is probably why no one has answered you out here. The only real recourse you have is posting in the original mod thread and/or posting your request HERE (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=30) for paid help to get a PHP programmer to help you.

And I made my op first line state the other was a mistake. Not going to apologize any more than that so if it "pisses them off", I am not worried.

I won't be paying for help.

Was hoping for a kind pointer or conditional suggestion.

The mod works fine. This is an addition to that.

Hope everyone else isnt so uptight dude.

Not being uptight at all, just simply telling you how things work most of the time on the site. Just trying to help you, but its obvious that you are not willing to take help in an objective manner.

I have been a member here for awhile, but Maybe not so active recently. Maybe the place has changed. I will await to see if this was the case.

Objective,...

1. It was suggested that I post my request in the mod thread. I did but I had read the contributers post, and help wont be given. That said I am looking for permissions help with the activity stream, unrelated to what that mod does indepebdantly, but felt it may be relevant to my cause.

2. Your reply was to post in the paid request forum, which after reading your bright red siggy advertisement, suggests your motive in your reply.

This post here is in the right forum. I read the forum description.

So I am left to wonder, what part of my reply lacked objectivity. I will answer that. None of it.

I love my vb, and vb org always used to be a great resource and full of people that always offered help. Now I returned and I am met with this. I many times to my best abilities freely gave help and code when I was able. Look at my older posts.

Len, I appreciate you at least responding. But I am not new here and I most certainly do not need someone to hold my hand and push me through doors here. Thank you for showing me that vb org may not be what it was. I hope I am wrong. I wont be leaving anytime soon. I just miss the environment I was most expecting when I returned.

But thank you for attaching my request to negative stigma. I guess this thread is toast and done. You may now close it. I will likely meet my objectives and I will, once again, freely post it in the mod forum.

Just because the person who created the mod states they do not give support does not mean that someone else in that thread has not encountered the same problem and solved it or knows how to solve it. As for the activity stream part you had stated that you were using this mod and I was under the impression that the mod had to do with your current activity stream that you were referring to.

So you are a mind reader now are you? Interesting. Actually I would have never answered your post in the paid for section because if you actually did any looking you would have seen that I clearly state in other threads when I'm helping other members on here that I do not code PHP and am not a programmer. I code HTML & CSS and this clearly is not a HTML/CSS fix. What you would probably need to fix this is a PHP plugin I would expect. So I would have never answered that post at all offering you any paid help. Lots of people have info of the like in their signatures and "help" in threads on here without getting accused of wanting to get money from anyone. Its just a shame that it seems that I cannot offer help to a member without being accused of wanting a payment down the line.

By "objective manner" I mean "taking help with an open mind". But you have apparently already made up your mind without knowing anything about me. I have no malice towards you yet you were pretty quick to attack me when I was trying to help you.

I love my vb, and vb org always used to be a great resource and full of people that always offered help. Now I returned and I am met with this. I many times to my best abilities freely gave help and code when I was able. Look at my older posts.

You are met with what? Someone trying to help you out?

I love vb too, that is why I come here and try to help others if possible and if I have free time. You too should take a look at my posts where I have helped others, but I doubt you will do that at all.

Len, I appreciate you at least responding. But I am not new here and I most certainly do not need someone to hold my hand and push me through doors here. Great! I'm glad that you do not need anyone to hold your hand in the site. That is awesome! Its really refreshing to see that someone knows what they are doing here.

But thank you for attaching my request to negative stigma. I guess this thread is toast and done. You may now close it. I will likely meet my objectives and I will, once again, freely post it in the mod forum.

How did I attach a negative stigma to your thread? I just merely answered it when no one else would. By the way, most people will not answer a thread when they see that the person posted two threads in different forums.

Mark, I'm afraid that I cannot take out any more time in my busy schedule to help you. I wish you good luck and I hope that you get your problem resolved.
