Cookie Control is the latest in the lineup of DragonByte Technologies modifications, enabling you to give members the choice to opt out of certain groups of cookies on your site.

Uses
Cookie Control enables your site to remain compliant with the EU's new cookie law, by offering your users the ability to opt out of certain cookies for your site.

Each cookie is classified into a set of categories; Necessary, Preferences, Statistics and Marketing. The user will be able to opt out of every cookie type except for Necessary cookies.

If a new cookie is detected, administrators will be able to visit the AdminCP to configure the classification as well as a description & basic information regarding the cookie, enabling your users to make an informed consent.

Thanks for making this mod.

Just to ask, does this mod have link that we can use so users can later change cookies' state (allowed/disallowed)?

Thanks for making this mod.

Just to ask, does this mod have link that we can use so users can later change cookies' state (allowed/disallowed)?Not at this time, the user would need to clear the cookies from that particular site in order to receive the choice again.

I'll test your mod and make feature requests at your site when I do found appropriate.

Just to mention, in EU cookie law I saw mentioning that link which resets cookie rules for users who choose to do so at later time. I know that users can operate cookies from within their browser (site, or all browser's cookies), but for some reason this EU cookies law asks us to do basically unnecessary things.

It would be great if your mod would have link that would bring up initial screen, or even better, reset cookies on site. It would mean more compatibility with EU cookies law.

This is explained here: http://ec.europa.eu/ipg/basics/legal/cookies/index_en.htm In example they offer here (http://ec.europa.eu/ipg/basics/legal/cookies/index_en.htm#section_5), item 3 is a link visibile in footer when users already accepted cookies, but they can choose to stop using them.

Hotfix: In the Lite version, the "Toggle Details" and "OK" buttons would not work as intended.

You forgot to put in the description that php 5.3 is required. Had to put in a ticket to have the techs upgrade it to 5.3 earlier today.

Hi could you please change this to where there is a collapsable box to open & close the display message instead of it covering half the screen when someone visits? Thanks.

There is already a collapsible box, not only can they click "okay" to dismiss the message permanently or they can also click to expand for more details.

I'm thinking if there could be a simple text link to open that js popup instead of being in your face. Does that make more sense? Because it is pretty intrusive for mobile browsing atm the way it is.

The law requires it to be obvious, so implementing your suggestion would unfortunately defeat the purpose of the mod.

What about if the floating box was smaller like this example.

It is approx. that size, assuming you are running a decently high resolution :)

Yeah on my phone and this example. This portrayal is pretty accurate.

I have a alcatel c1 - OS Android 4
LG G2 - OS Android 5
and a
Rca 7 inch Tablet - OS Android 4
Plus my Vizio 26 inch TV (VA26LHDTV10T) (incapable of 1080P I believe) which I have my tower hooked onto. (displays it a bit larger than the comparison... )
All run android os

All of which have more than half the screen covered by the notice.

Basically, people should accept using cookies, or just go elsewhere.

What is a problem is EU cookies law which makes EU based websites uncompetitive to websites located elsewhere. The problem isn't in this mod. Average user isn't interested in cookies, but content on website. No user is safer in knowing that cookies exist and that average website (almost all there are, except the most simple ones) needs to use them.

Marked as installed !

Thank you very much for this mod. It looks great. I just installed and it does warn the users about cookie but when i go to admin cookie control > Cookie Management. I get Internal Server Error. Any idea how to fix this?

Thank you very much for this great modification!

Finally more than just another JavaScript Pop-up. However, I'm a little confused how the addon finds out which cookies are used on my site. I've many cookies from Google Analytics and AddThis and I'm sure I've never used Google Analytics on my site. And I've also disabled social networks like facebook etc. on my site. I don't know why it says that my site uses "AddThis" cookies. When I check my Browser and view the cookies, only the standard vBulletin cookies are used. So I'Ve also checked the plugin on a clean vB 4.2.5 install and compared them to my life site. The results are the same: Even in a clean install the Google Cookies are listed there. Quite confusing for my users.

Again, I'm pretty sure I've never added anything in relation to Google Analytics on my site. Or does the youtube BB-Code result in these cookies? I'd be really glad to hear from you on this matter. Thanks!
