I am looking for some new Gallery software. One that is incorporated hand and hand and works really well with VBulletin and will continue to be supported for many years to come. In the past I have used PhotoPost and VBGallery. I liked the software very much but they announced that they are no longer maintaining or supporting these two products.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this?
Now let me go on a little rant here about Photopost software because they really ticked me off and are screwing me and many others over. I am sure that many other customers feel the same way I do. I just want to get this off my back.
I am looking for some new Gallery software. One that works with VB and will be continued to be supported for many years to come. In the past I have used PhotoPost and VBGallery. I liked the software very much but there supported over the last year started to go downhill. Then they announced that they were no longer going to continue maintaining their product or supporting it. Now there leaving me and many other hanging/screwed over. I have used their product for well over 10 years and on have millions of photos in each of my galleries that users have uploaded. Now with there being no support it will eventually stop working with vbulletin in the future. This really ticks me off because I have articles that were written all over the web with links to my photos and many other external links on other web sites that reference photos from may galleries. This is really going to hurt me in my search results when these photos are no longer accessible. It is also going to hurt my web site ratings that have taken me years to get where I am now. But they don?t seem to care about how they are hurting others.
I even wrote to PhotoPost and asked about getting the copyright so that I could look into maintaining it or have someone else keep it up to date for me so that I and others could keep using it, seeing that they could care less about all the people they are screwing over. Their response was:
?PhotoPost is owned by All Enthusiast, Inc. Although we don't plan to sell new licenses for the time being, the company isn't going anywhere and will continue to own all intellectual property rights to PhotoPost Pro, vBGallery, and its other products. We won't be transferring the copyright that we own in our products, to anyone.?
"PhotoPost source code may be altered (at the owners risk), but the software (altered or otherwise) may not be distributed to entities beyond the license holder without the explicit written permission of All Enthusiast, Inc."
They might as well have told me and everyone else that they could care less about our galleries and our predicament.
