"Revolving" banner, what to use?

Title says it all, I want to have a number of member images load in succession or random into a banner on each of the forum sections, such as this:

http://www.cooper.com/

I seen openix but that seems overkill. IM not selling anything, I just think it would be cool to have a banner that goes thru a list of pictures of all member without having to refresh the screen.

Do that one loads the graphics on reloads or is it timed?
