Hello,
Showcasing my website: www.christforums.org
I am using a commerical theme which I have added css to etc. Some mods from this site. I could really use some feedback! Marketing is something I am just now tackling, and SEO.
With that in mind, perhaps you can give me some feed back in order to better the site? Is it easy to navigate, confusing, etc....
I am using Vbulletin 5.1.7.
Thanks in advance,
William

Some sections are to large you need to make some smaller by making more sub section of them. I like the skin and the way its all set out once you fix the above it will be better. The chat side box is blank that needs fixed

Thanks Force,
I'll fool around with it more. Do you, by chance, have an example?
Regarding the chat box, I actually have a developer working on getting rid of that altogether and combining the statistics with the online module.
Again, thanks for your valuable feedback!

Absolutely incredible. I have never seen such a good style for vbulletin 5.
I want to say that you have absolutely blown my mind on what is possible for vbulletin 5. I never knew you could take the software that far and I'm not being sarcastic at all.
Brilliant.

Thank you kindly Sir.
Vbulletin 5.1.7 has been a great forum solution for me to work with. I began working with Vb 5 some three months ago since Vb 5.1.5 and think that maybe I missed out on most bugs that earlier users experienced.
Enjoy,
Shim

Overall I think it is pretty decent, simple and clean. I do not have time to give a full review but just from a quick look and from an seo perspective I would suggest trying to consolidate some of those forums. You will have a very hard time populating all of them. Try to stay on your main topic as well as much as possible.
Shorten some of those forum descriptions! They should be maybe 150 characters or so. Less even.
Another thing, not seo related. Change your favicon from the default vbulletin one, try to use progressive jpg images when possible for your forum images.
Good luck! :)

I thought enough changes to the forum were worth a bump. Now working with Vb 5.2.0, and Sultan Themes. The theme has been tinkered with for near half a year. I'm pretty happy with the way things are with VB 5. All are welcome: www.christforums.org
I plan to hire a developer for some custom mods in the months to come. Mainly search related additions and Geo location searches implemented for members to find other members nearby. This will be an addition to the Singles subforums which will give the site a dating type feel for Christian singles.

Whoa! The skin is fine except that striped background makes me dizzy. I'd lose that personally and put something a little less noticeable. You do not want an aspect of your skin to draw away from your forum content and what you are trying to communicate to your readers/members. The background is super distracting.
When I click on the articles link at the bottom of your forum while viewing your forum the article page is missing the header, it just has the logo. I do not know if that was intentional or not. Same with the News link. The Sitemap link is a literal Sitemap, which usually if you have a link to it for your site its an organized list set in the same templates that you have installed. Its just a ton of links. I do not use vB5 so I do not know if its supposed to be that way or not, but that is typically not really going to help you to include that link if its just the sitemap that you submit to a search engine.
You might want to hide the ChatRooms links from the public since its only for members.
I will say this, it is one of the better vB5 sites that I've seen. So you are on the right track, you just need a few little tweaks to finish it up.

Hi HM666,
I took your advice and dropped the striped background. As for the three links on the bottom of the page, they are actually not part of the website, but part of an SEO effort by a company I use. The actual Sitemap is located at a different URL and submitted to Google, which works fine.
Thanks for your input,
Shim

Background is much better :) If you are working with a company for those links I would bring that up to them. They maybe unaware that the links are leading to pages without the top header graphic and they may have intended for that SiteMap link to be hidden. :)

I am very impressed with what you have done as far as style goes. I haven't decided to work with vb5 yet but what you have going on there makes me want to try it on a future project. Great work!
