Dear All,

when I clicked on this link http://www.webmastersun.com/search/search engine optimization

It will redirect to link http://www.webmastersun.com/search.php?searchid=361252

Ok, fine. I am seeing all the search results at this URL ( on the browser )

but when I copy this URL http://www.webmastersun.com/search.php?searchid=361252 to a different browser, it is showing me:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

Note: I checked with other sites and it worked in all cases.

Do you know reason why happened that?

and how to keep it run all the browsers? I mean the search results

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure it's because you copied it to a different browser? I think what happens is that when you search it caches the results then redirects you to a url with searchid=XXX to display the cached version. But it eventually expires, so you can't really use that as a link to a search. I was always kind of surprised that I have never seen anyone mention this. I think a mod that puts a permanent link to a search on the result page would be useful.

In any case, I think you need to come up with a link that has the actual search parameters in the url.

@kh99

In any case, I think you need to come up with a link that has the actual search parameters in the url.

this url: /search/search engine optimization

just rewritten from

/search.php?do=process&query=search engine optimization

it has no problem here

...But it eventually expires, so you can't really use that as a link to a search

I know this, you could say right but you can be wrong because another vB site is keeping the search results, even copy url to difference browsers or see them whenever needed, after days or months.

domain.com/search.php?searchid=361252

That's problem I want to ask, does vB have a option to allow this?

If you want to have a look, I can send a PM to you with URLs and I am mentioning to.

Hello ForceHSS

You know what keyword I'm searched from this URL
http://www.webmastersun.com/search.php?searchid=361317

or you are seeing this

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

I want when I sent to someone a URL with search.php?searchid=xxxx then they will know I searched for which keyword.

Also the search page is returned with results
