View Full Version : Can't uninstall chatbox after upgrade

I upgraded from 4.1.5 to the latest 4.2.2 I cannot uninstall chatbox now. Can anyone help me?

You should have removed the products before upgrading. Install the backup you should have made before upgrading, uninstall the products then upgrade.

And make sure you go through the installation instructions backwards and undo any changes (like template changes, files uploaded, etc) that you did during installation.

I thought if you disabled a product during upgrade and reinstall and enable you save data like in CB, Thanks ect. Am I incorrect on this, being a medical site I would hate to lose even side conversations.

If you uninstall the product, then the tables or table fields will get deleted and any data created from the product will be lost. That is assuming the product was created properly and the uninstall script is set up to delete all the tables and fields that were created when you installed it.

But, you said you were trying to uninstall the chatbox. I'm saying you need to go through the installation instructions backwards in order to uninstall it properly.

Lynne after the config.php file fix you gave me all is good... just redid the upgrade this time disabling products....
