Where have all the smiles gone?

So I loaded 4.2.2
and in there is a pdf file called vbulletin smiles
only none of them work and none of them show in the when
you hit the smile button.
I take it I am missing something?

Check the smilie paths - if you went from 3.x to 4.x, they may still have an extension of .gif. The new ones are .png files.

Did you actually install them via the Smilie Manager? They are all in the /images/smilies directory, but in order to install them, go to admincp > Smilies > Add New Smilie > Add Multiple Smilies > enter the path /images/smilies > Add Smilies and they will all show up in a list and you may choose which ones to add to your site.
