I have a few hundred active subscribers with recurring payment profiles on my forum. Every few months they are billed for this subscription if it's still active.
Payments are made out to account1@email.com.
I'd like to change the email in the payments API to account2@email.com.
The new email address, account2, belongs to a new paypal account.
If I switch the email to account2 in the payments API, will this break existing subscriptions with account1?
I'm a little paranoid about this, as I really don't want to break existing recurring payment profiles.
Any input is appreciated!

I do not think it will change anything that is already there but I'm not 100% sure. I've never personally had a problem in the past in changing it. Maybe wait a bit and see if someone else weighs in.

If anyone is wondering, the email change resulted in a mess.
Existing subscriptions didn't break, however current premium users whose accounts were due for renewal didn't maintain premium status. Payment goes through, but the account doesn't stay upgraded.
I'm also getting tons of IPN errors.

Did you remove the old email account from your paypal all togehter?
Here are some things you can try, I'm not sure if they will help or not but you can try them and see if the accounts update.
1. Clear your cache - Maintenance > Clear System Cache.
2. Update your members accounts - Maintenance > General Update Tools > Update User Titles and Ranks
3. Update your members profiles - Maintenance > General Update Tools > Fix broken user profiles
4. If you deleted the old email address in PayPal try adding it back. Not sure this will help but it may complete anything broken within the PayPal account. Otherwise you may have to contact PayPal for any fixes on their end.
5. Repair/Optimize the tables - Maintenance > Repair / Optimize Tables

Nope, the old email needed to stay since it's on account1. Payments from old subscriptions are made out to that account.
The new paypal account, account2 is completely separate from account1.

Ok was not sure. Try the items I suggested something may work, if not there maybe programmers that might see this and be able to help you it maybe a programming issue or even an issue with a plugin that is installed IDK.

Yeah honestly I think it's an issue with vbulletin not being able to handle it. It doesn't seem like this is something that would affect many users so I'm not surprised or angry or w/e.

Yeah it probably is vBulletin based. Sometimes the subscription system for some just goes absolutely nuts, sometimes it does not.
