When i add a subforum, it does not show up as a link below the main forum. It shows up as it's own individual forum. How do i get them to show up as links below the parent forum?

Don't place them as a category. Choose the category you want the forum area to fall under in the drop down. Do you have categories or did you just make them all forums? If you made them all forums then this is probably your problem. It would be a lot easier to have a link so I can see which you did to tell you how to fix it.

Ok is it you want the link to show of the subforum, that tiny little link? If so check these settings: Settings > Options > Forum Listings Display Options. Make sure the first 3 fields have the number 2 in them and save.

the third field had the number one in it. I changed it to 2 and it did not work. I cleared the cache and it still did not work.

Are you choosing the forum or category you want the forum area to be a child of in the drop down when editing or creating the subforum? And make sure that you do not tick "act as a category", make sure its set as no on the forums.

it is the child of the forums. It shows the forum status image and just right of that it shows a little subforum icon bit it does not show up as a link.

Are you referring to the Suggestions, Downloads Archives etc? If so you have those set as categories. Again make sure that you tick "NO" for set as category in the forum manager when editing that forum.

All it gives me the option to do is for it to act as a forum or not. I have it set to yes. I set it to no and it changes the status image to this: http://dudetalk.info/images/statusicon/category_forum_old-48.png

It should always be set at yes to act as a forum. Do you have Project Tools installed on your site?

I'm out of ideas as to why its not working. Its probably something simple but without being logged into your admincp its hard to troubleshoot exactly.

This is the setting you need to change, read over what they say.
I don't have a vb4 install handy but try 2,2,4

You have to make categories then make forums and then should showup properly.

e.g.
Category A (Whilst making a forum set this to act as category .. Posting options > Act as Forum = NO)
-- Forum a
-- Forum b
----Forum c
----forums d
Category B (Whilst making a forum set this to act as category .. Posting options > Act as Forum = NO)
-- Forum 1
-- Forum 2
----Forum 3
----forums 4
Etc....
And set the forum depth to 2,2,1
