I made a mistake by putting some adsense code in the place of a forum category, not the the entire list of forum categories and forums have vanished and I am unable to delete the forum made up of code, is there anyway to do this via FTP.

Please can someone help?

Thank You

Where did you pit the adsense code? If you put it into a template you can just revert the template if you put it into the PHP file then you can download vbulletin again from your members area and over write the file and DO NOT make changes in the PHP files again.

I put it as if I was making a forum category, thinking the banner would show on the home page on list of categories, really stupid I know :)

Uh no probably NOT a good idea, but then again I guess you have figured that out now lol. you may have to delete that forum completely from your site to get rid of it. Not sure never tried to do that before. There are some mods on here that will add ads in the forums areas just do a search for them and see.

It has blanked out all the categories and forums so can't even any category

Its done this in the AdminCP? Oh dear. Well before you go off and lose a years worth of stuff I would go and make a backup of the site & database. You still have those there or at least you should. Try these things just for giggles:

1. Hard refresh your browser. Or just refresh it.
2. Delete your browser cache & cookies.
3. Go into your AdminCp and go to Maintenance > Clear System Cache that will clear the cache and may bring it back.

I'm a bit stumped. You may need to try and hire someone to fix it. There are quite a few people on here that might have another idea.

Have you globally disabled your mods just to see if it comes back up?

Global disable: open your includes>config.php file and find:

<?php

and under place:

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Save and upload again to your server in the includes directory.

If you find that it works after disabling the plugins globally then re-enable the plugins by putting // in front of the code so it looks like this:

//define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Save and upload again.

Then you will have to go through your mods one by one until you find the one that is causing the conflict.

Did you add this in a template or admincp/Forums & Moderators/Forum Manager

upgraded to the latest version but now am unable to get into the admin just getting:

Warning: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'UTC' for 'GMT/0.0/no DST' instead in ..../includes/functions.php on line 4918

I am assuming I will have to take this as a lesson learned and start over lol

As of vBulletin 4.2.2 we’ve stopped suppressing notices and warnings. This is a change from all previous versions of the software.

You can see additional information about this change here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-announcements/vbulletin-announcements_aa/4000121-vbulletin-4-2-2-full-has-been-released

ANy reason you haven't opened a support ticket?
