Managing email and templates?

There is the bulk email function in the AdminCP. Is there anything we can use to create templates and help with delivery to ensure the emails get delivered?

I am not sure what you mean.

There is an email to html mod that will send your emails in html. You can create them using html templates and then just paste the code into the email area and send.

Is that what people traditionally do? Just use html emails and send from the crappy editor in the back of Vbulletin, or is there a better solution? How can I automatically pull the latest hot threads for the month and include that in the email?

I noticed with Xenforo you can create weekly digests with hot topics from the week. Is this possible with vBulletin?
