Complete Feature List

Option to disable the mod completely.
Option to select which usergroups can view the site if you have it turned off.
Option to set which userid's can view the site if you have it turned off.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. Why do I need such a thing, you ask?

A. Some admins might like to have other users test things when the site is turned off. Or you may have a test site that you want other users to have access to.

Q. What is the difference between your version and the other versions available here?

A. Fist off, some of them have been reported as not working, and this one should work with no issues. Secondly, the other versions do not show the usergroups that are allowed to view the forums when they are closed the " Alert: The forums are currently turned off! " warning message in the header and footer, this one does.
Lastly, this mod allows you to allow users by userid access to the forums when they are closed, none of the other versions do that.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

I appreciate the support!

Thanks. Like I said there are a few other like mods, but I did not like the fact it did not show the closed site message, so I re wrote it all so it now does. :)

Just installed it as I am doing some maintenance on my forum - works brilliantly. Checked with other users and they could only see the locked message while I was free to browse and test the changes. Thanks :)

If you are a member of a admin group, you can browse your site without this mod. This is for additional users, or usergroups to allow them access to test things while you have the site closed.

Not sure whether I would personally use this, though I am sure many others will. Great idea to allow team members access while site is under going upgrades as such.

Yeah this may not be for all users. :) But some will find it invaluable.

You turned off the site via the vBulletin options?

Yes, the site is turned off through the vBulletin options, then I went into the Usergroup/Userid Access To Closed Site Settings to only allow 2 additional groups, super moderators and 1 group that I've created for testing forum features. If you log into a user that's not part of any of those groups, you get the message that the forum is closed, when logged into a user that is part of the group, the forum displays as normal with the message at top saying that the forum is closed. Signed out of your account or open another browser that you're not currently signed into and go to the site, you see the full site with all it's glories (with the message about the forums being closed). I turn off the plug in and the site goes back to showing up as being closed for everyone (expect admins). And yes I've tried disabling all my other plugins and played with the settings to no avail.
