I just recently implemented the "Todays Events" hack on my forum, and was thinking about a "Reminders" type hack. Where, as an example, you could have the following on the forum index:

Todays Birthdays: SoAndSo, ThisAndThat
Todays Events: Gathering 2.0, SomePrivateEvent
Reminders: Call SoAndSo, Code this, Stuff This That The Other

I suppose the best way would be to add a checkbox to the calendar that would make the event date-inspecific, and have them show up in the user CP in a "To-do List" section, or something of the like.

This would be extremely handy, to have private reminder events for each user. Hell, I find myself saying "remind me to do this and that" to the users that hang out on my IRC server all the time.

Anyone want to toss something together or point me in the right direction? I'm sure I'm not the only one who could benefit from this, and I'd love to see it as a standard feature, personally.

Wow, I remember back when I'd get a reply in less than 5 minutes on this board, but come on, 5 days and not even a single reply? Does nobody think this would be neat? I'd code it myself if I knew where to start. All I need is a little help...

You might consider waiting until the 2.2 release is out. I like this idea actually, but everyone (at least me) is gearing up for changing their boards over.

I will seriously look at doing this after I release the next vbStats. It will probably help me out a lot.

what about me???? i spent a month hacking mine. there's about 25% original code in there and now 2.2.0 ... jeesh... should be worth it though

I'm still wanting to do this. I've upgraded to 2.2.0, been looking for neat things to do to my board, and a to-do list that would work through the calendar is still at the top of my list.

None whatsoever, and I still want to do it.. It's on my to-do list, you see, which *could* be conviniently placed on my forum, but noooooo... ;)
